Clearly, product and category knowledge is fundamental to evaluating any situation, but, when everyone shares the same experience and viewpoint, it can also prove to be a constraint.

Some problems require what we commonly refer to as “out-of-the-box” thinking, that is, a willingness to look at a problem from new and different perspectives. To see the world, not through the same glasses, but through glasses from different disciplines, which offer uniquely different points-of-view.

Kothe Marketing Consulting.
8 Facets™ is a unique problem solving and ideation process that uses a multi-disciplined, multi-talented, multi-faceted approach. It brings together a variety of diverse professionals, from totally different fields, to focus, in a concentrated time period, on your issue/dilemma.

What can a playwright, an architect, a scientist, a doctor, a creative director, a patent attorney, a sales rep, and you have in common? Your problem!

Different Perspectives Yield Different Solutions
This diverse team...working with you...goes through a tightly structured process. It all begins with you presenting the “case,” providing important product/category background and your analysis of the situation, NOT your solution. Then, through a series of structured exercises, the team members, using their uniquely different perspectives, work together to generate numerous “possible solutions” to your problem.

Reduce the Sauce
Every great chef knows that a great sauce requires reduction. Similarly, the 8 Facets process includes a final step as the team works with you to reduce the possible solutions down to the two to three “most likely to succeed” approaches. Solutions or ideas that are ready to be “taste tested” in the marketplace.

A Solution that Works
The result? You will leave your session with practical, workable ideas and/or solutions to your problem. These will not be “pie-in-the-sky,” “ivory tower” solutions. Rather, these will be solutions/ideas that work…for your organization and for you!
